Requested Centre to allot gas from KG basin D6 block, says Chief Minister

Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy has urged the Congress leadership and the Central government to take an early decision on the Telangana issue.

Addressing a press conference in New Delhi on Saturday at the end of the two-day meeting with CLP leaders and PCC chiefs convened by AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi, he said it was for the Congress leadership to take a decision on the “sensitive and complex” issue. “The party’s central leadership takes policy decisions and we want it to take a speedy decision on Telangana,” he said.

He did not respond to questions on the concerns reportedly expressed by Maharashtra Chief Minister and West Bengal PCC president over the impact in their States if the separate Telangana agitation was allowed to continue.

He also refused to reply when asked whether he expressed views in support of or against separate State. “I cannot reveal the discussions,” he added.
