Chief Minister N. Kirankumar Reddy will visit West Godavari district along with Union Minister for Rural Development Jairam Ramesh on May 5.
As per the official programme, Mr. Reddy and Mr. Ramesh will interact with the Self-Help Group (SHG) women at Auto Nagar near Asram Medical College at 11am.
Later, they will take part in a slew of official programmes which include laying of a foundation stone for construction of a rail over bridge at Vatluru, inauguration of a 10 KV solar power packs at Collectorate, inauguration of a blood components bank and foundation laying for a mother and child health services block at the government hospital in the city and inauguration of a Buddha park at Gajavallivari Chervu in I-Town.
Besides, they will also participate in programmes relating to inauguration of integrated welfare hostel for boys and a veterinary dispensary hospital at Kovvali and a drinking water scheme at Denduluru.
The Rural Development Minister is likely to get a feedback on the progress being made by the SHG women in resolving gender issues at the village level through the Social Action Committees (SACS) and economic self-reliance achieved by the women through the SHG movement during the interactive session.
Minister for Social Welfare Pitani Satyanarayana took stock of the arrangements on the programme with Collector G. Vanimohan and Superintendent of Police M. Ramesh here on Wednesday. He later went round the places chosen for a makeshift helipad for landing of the VIPs and the public interaction with the SHG women as part of taking stock of the security arrangements.
