YSRC honorary president dubs ‘Amma Hastam’ scheme as ‘Maya Hastam’
YSR Congress honorary president Y.S. Vijayamma on Wednesday accused the Kiran Kumar Reddy government of totally neglecting people’s welfare and dubbed ‘Amma Hastam’ scheme as ‘Maya Hastam’.
Addressing a gathering at Addagutta in Secunderabad after listening to people’s grievances, she accused the government of being indifferent to people’s problems.
She said former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajaskhara Reddy knew the sufferings of the people and had introduced several schemes to mitigate them. He not only introduced them but also implemented them successfully as he was sincere. But now the State government was not concerned about people’s problems and was imposing taxes. She said ‘Amma Hastam’ was introduced with an eye on the elections. Earlier speaking at a May Day function at the party office, she said YSR Congress was committed to the welfare of workers.
She said workers were happy during YSR regime, but were in distress now as the government was forcing closure of the industries by imposing power cuts. More than four lakh cottage and small industries had been closed due to lack of power.
