Telangana Rashtra Samithi MLA Dr. Thatikonda Rajaiah accused the Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy of being anti-Dalit.
Mr. Rajaiah alleged that the Chief Minister was behind the strike of electricity employees in Seemandhra region indirectly causing the death of patients, a majority of them belonging to SC/ST/OBC category, in government hospitals.
The Chief Minister, instead of convincing the employees to call off their strike as Telangana formation was imminent, was encouraging them. Following the strike by electricity employees, about 3,200 MW of power generation was affected at VTPS, RTPS, Srisailam and Upper Sileru hydal power stations.
“The impact is very bad on government hospitals in Seemandhra and the affected people are Dalits,” he pointed out.
The CM should recall the statement he made during the Sakala Janula Samme wherein he cautioned the Telangana JAC leaders to take the responsibility if any deaths occur in government hospitals due to the strike.
In the name of agitation, some anti-social elements were targeting the leaders belonging to socially backward communities which was most unfortunate.
