KHAMMAM: Khammam district has bagged two national e-Governance awards, according to district Collector Rajendra Narendra Nimje.
He said here on Friday that the district was awarded the Silver Icon for its e-immunisation and bronze Icon for its health call centre.
The e-Governance awards are instituted by the Department of Administrative reforms and Public Grievances, Government of India to recognise excellence in the implementation of e-Governance initiative in an exemplary manner.
The awards would be presented at the ninth national e-Governance conference to be held at Kochi in Kerala from February 2 to 4 under the Joint auspices of the Department of Administrative reforms, Government of India and the Department of Information Technology, Government of Kerala.
The health call centre was inaugurated by the Governor, Sushil Kumar Shinde here on March 9 last year. Since then 168 calls were received out of which 55 were road accidents and 45 were snake-bites.The e-immunisation was being implemented in Tirumalayapalem and Kokkireni health sub-centres since March last year. In all 965 children were immunised in the two sub centres.
