HYDERABAD: ‘Uddanam’ in Srikakulam district, known for its coconut plantations, will be developed on the lines of tourist spots in Kerala.
Principal Secretary of Tourism and Culture D. Lakshmi Parthasarathy, who reviewed the progress of tourist projects with all district department officials in a video-conference, disclosed this on Saturday.
A war memorial with sound and light show would be developed at Bobbili fort in Vizianagaram while Vizianagaram Music College would be preserved as heritage building.
Bobbili craft village developed under rural tourism project would have a museum exclusively on Bobbili veena.
Beach resorts in Baruva of Srikakulam, transforming the rare ‘Erramatti Dibbalu’ at Visakhapatnam, Dutch centre at Bhimili and a beach circuit comprising Baavikonda, Totlakonda, Appikonda and Pavuralakonda were other new plans for development , she said.
Ms. Parthasarathy also reviewed the ongoing tourism projects in East Godavari, West Godavari, Krishna, Guntur, Prakasam and Rayalaseema.
