TIRUPATI: Rajya Sabha member and senior Congress leader V. Hanumantha Rao said Telangana Rashtra Samiti president K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s ‘Telangana drama’ is heading for the last scene.
He is playing on the sentiments of Telangana people for his political mileage, he said talking to mediapersons here on Sunday.
Referring to the Mr. Rao’s overtures to rub shoulders with the NDA leaders after having fought the recent elections from the third front platform which is an avowed anti-BJP and anti-Congress combine, Mr. Hanumantha Rao described it as highly unethical more so barely few days before the results for the elections are to be announced.
It is nothing but an insult on the people of Telengana region, he said.
He did not agree with the TRS chief’s argument that he is gravitating towards the BJP-led NDA to secure separate statehood for Telengana because only a national party could give it. The Congress leader found fault with Mr. Rao for trying to jump into the NDA bandwagon post-elections after garnering Muslim votes in the just-concluded polls. If he had any principles, he should have joined the NDA before the elections, he said.
