Promises concrete steps to boost mining activity by opening new underground mines
Eulogising the role of Singareni coal miners as a driving force to propel the national economy, Telangana Rashtra Samiti president K Chandrasekhar Rao made a slew of promises to ensure the welfare of coal workers and expand coal mining activity by setting up new underground mines in Telangana.
Mr KCR addressed public meetings in Khammam, Yellendu and a few other constituencies in the district on Tuesday.
Speaking at a meeting in the coal hub of Yellendu late in the evening, Mr KCR said his party, after coming to power, would initiate concrete steps to boost coal mining activity by opening new underground mines.
Welfare schemes like dependent employment and special incentives would be implemented to ensure the well-being of the workforce, he said.
He said his party would accord top priority to setting up a steel plant in the public sector in Bayyaram to create employment avenues for local unemployed youths and develop the backward areas.
Earlier, the TRS president addressed a public meeting at Pavilion Grounds in Khammam town.
