TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao is objecting to allocation of Bayyaram and other iron ore mines to the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant as he is desperate to revive the agitation for separate Telangana State, which is at a low ebb, Minister for Investments and Infrastructure Ganta Srinivasa Rao has said.
“The TRS president has lost his balance and is making such statements. Bayyaram is a national resource and VSP is a national asset where people from all over the country, including Telangana, are working.
A national resource such as gas from the K-G basin cannot be utilised only in the area where it is available and its transfer to other area should not be stopped,” Mr. Srinivasa Rao said at a press conference.
He said that Union Minister of State for Tourism K. Chiranjeevi would lay foundation for the Rs.48-crore Visakhapatnam-Bheemli Beach Corridor project on May 4.
An Olympic Run would be organised in the city on June 23 and an estimated 1.20 lakh people were expected to participate. This would be an attempt at entering the Guinness Book of Records, Mr. Srinivasa Rao said.
