KADAPA: Mana Party’s State president Kasani Gyaneswar Mudiraj will address a sadassu at Kadapa on July 22 as part of his campaign to arouse political consciousness among the SCs, STs and backward classes, the party’s district convenor K. Yanadaiah said on Thursday.
‘Gearing them up’
SCs, STs and minorities who constituted nearly 85 per cent of the population remained backward and added that Mr. Gyaneswar was striving to gear them up for achieving political power in the future,
Mr. Yanadaiah told a press conference here. The Congress and Telugu Desam Party had ruled the State since Independence, but snubbed the downtrodden and weaker sections, he alleged.
Neither Congress nor TDP had fielded even one BC candidate for Assembly from Kadapa district in last elections, he recalled.
BCs were also meted out injustice in allotment of MLC seats and elected posts in municipal corporations, he alleged.
Mr. Gyaneswar would lead a motorcycle rally from Apsara circle to Ambedkar statue and after garlanding it would return to Apoorva kalyana mantapam, the venue for the sadassu on July 22, he said. Mana Party co-convenors Ramanjaneyulu and Suryanarayana, city president Subbarayudu, city general secretary Sudhakar and youth wing convenor Kishore Kumar participated.
