Says TDP leader had encroached upon 180 acres of land
Says leaders of TDP, CPI, CPI (M) and BJP involvedChallenges rival parties to a debate on the issue
KADAPA: In a significant counter to Opposition's charges of land grabbing by Congressmen, Kadapa Mayor P. Ravindranath Reddy lodged a complaint with Kadapa District Revenue Officer Joshi Babu alleging that 180 acres of DKT lands in Kadapa and Chintakommadinne mandals were under occupation of Telugu Desam Party Polit Bureau member Kandula Sivananda Reddy and his family members.
He challenged the rival party leaders for a public debate or a debate before media persons. Asserting that he would furnish documentary evidence of lands encroached upon by the TDP, CPI, CPI (M) and BJP leaders, he dared them to submit proof against any Congress members.
The Mayor listed out survey numbers and extent of DKT lands possessed by Mr. Sivananda Reddy, his wife K. Rajeswaramma and their relatives Kandula Maheswaramma, S. Padmavathamma and S. Venkatasiva Reddy.
Rajya Sabha member and district TDP president C. Ramachandraiah encroached upon hundreds of acres of land belonging to SC/STs at Jogulapalle in Vontimitta mandal and built a farm estate, he alleged. He charged CPI and CPI(M) functionaries with encroaching upon Government lands and selling them as house sites to persons, who already possessed four to five such house sites. BJP leaders Maheswar Reddy and S. Bharavi grabbed hundreds of acres of ex-servicemen's lands at Putlampalle, he alleged.
The Mayor urged people to inform him on mobile No. 9849058912 or the municipal corporation officials on call centre No. 1913 about lands encroached upon by political leaders.
