Anantapur : Jana Vignana Vedika (JVV) State Convenor M. Geyanand has cautioned the people against viewing the solar eclipse with naked eyes on January 15 between 11.30 a.m. and 3p.m . The Friday’s solar eclipse is the rarest and longest one lasting for 11minutes and eight seconds .

The JVV has made arrangements for the viewers of the solar eclipse to observe the wonderful cosmic spectacle using solar filters. Any attempt to view the eclipse directly will have it’s bearing on the retina of the eyes. Even pregnant women can also come out of their homes and watch the beautiful spectacle using the solar filter glasses.

He decried the superstitious beliefs in this regard .
