HYDERABAD: Health Minister K. Rosaiah here on Saturday night held talks for an hour with junior doctors to resolve the strike but the exercise was inconclusive.

The Minister asked leaders of the junior doctors association to call off the strike and join duty to help the public and to participate in the all-party meeting on GO.No.19 being held on Sunday.

He offered that the demands of junior doctors could be included in the agenda of the all-party meeting if the strike was called off.

Ch. Pradeep, president of the association, and others however insisted on participation in the meeting with their demands being included in the agenda with strike continuing.

They told the Minister that they would convey their decision after consulting their colleagues.

Memo to Governor

Mr. Pradeep later told The Hindu that their decision on the strike would be disclosed on Sunday after consultations and the strike would continue till then.

Earlier in the day, students staged a dharna in front of Raj Bhavan and submitted a memorandum to the Governor, listing the "injustice meted out" to them by the Government.
