Rajahmundry mediapersons on Tuesday demanded an unconditional apology from Amalapuram MP GV Harsha Kumar, who had allegedly made derogatory remarks against them during a rally organized by him on Monday.

At its meeting, Press Club adopted a resolution to this effect which was signed by about 50 journalists, including photographers. The meeting was presided over by Padala Veerabhadra Rao, senior journalist. In the resolution, the journalists demanded that Mr. Harsha Kumar tender an apology by coming to Press Club before 6 p.m. on October 10 or they would decide future course of action at the general body meeting to be held the next day.

In a separate statement, APUWJ district president M. Srirammurthy condemned the remarks of the MP.
