KARIMNAGAR: Minister for Sports and Culture M Satyanarayana Rao has called upon the people to avail of employment opportunities by taking up works in villages under the rural employment guarantee scheme.
Participating in Praja Patham at Manakondur and Thimmapur mandals on Saturday, he said employment guarantee scheme would provide employment to the farm labourers and stop migration during summer season. He suggested the farmers to take up desiltation of feeder channels, tanks and other water harvesting works in the village under the scheme.
Responding to complaints in Annaram village of Manakondur mandal, the Minister instructed the Transco authorities to depute a lineman in the village and solve the power problem. He also informed revenue authorities to take measures for the early distribution of ration cards. He also directed authorities to motivate farm labourers to work under the employment guarantee scheme.
He also inaugurated the Mandal praja parishad office building in Manakondur mandal constructed at a cost of Rs. 30 lakhs.
He inaugurated the additional classroom buildings in upper primary school in Lingapur village. He also launched the scheme works in Munjampalli and Sadashivapalli by taking up feeder channels.
He also distributed Rs 2.5 lakh financial assistance to the women self-help group members on the occasion.
ZP chairman K V Rajeshwara Rao, Kamalapur legislator E Rajender, Markfed chairman P Prabhakar, Karimnagar market committee chairman Y Sunil Rao, RDO Prasada Rao and others were also present.
