HYDERABAD: Nearly 50,000 students will get their degrees and diplomas at the 23rd convocation of the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) to be held on March 30.
JNTU Vice-Chancellor K. Rajagopal told reporters here on Wednesday that Damodar Acharya, Chairman AICTE, would deliver the convocation address while university Chancellor Rameshwar Thakur would preside.
The university would also confer Doctor of Philosophy (Honoris Causa) on B.V.R. Mohan Reddy, Chairman and Managing Director of Infotech Enterprises Ltd, and B.G. Sidharth, Director-General, Birla Science Museum.
He said 49,834 candidates would get their degrees and diplomas of which 47,453 students would get undergraduate degrees and 2,260 would receive their postgraduate degrees. Explaining the achievements of the university, he said 16 new PG programmes had been introduced last year.
