HYDERABAD: The Chaderghat police on Monday caught a Mumbai-based jeweller Mohan Singh and his employee Dhirendra Kumar Varma while they were transporting gold jewellery weighing 8.789 kg during vehicle-checking at Nalgonda crossroads.

The jeweller was handed over to the Income Tax officials since he could not produce any tax payments bill pertaining to purchase of the jewellery. “Mr. Singh told us that he got the jewellery made in Mumbai and was supposed to sell it to his clients in the city,” the East Zone DCP T. Prabhakar Rao said. The duo was going from Abids to Dilsukhnagar in an auto.
