VISAKHAPATNAM: Commodore Sunil Jetly took over as Naval Officer in-charge of Andhra Pradesh from Commodore K.N. Mohandas, at a ceremonial parade held at Naval Dockyard on Monday.
On arrival, he was presented a 19-men guard. He inspected the platoons consisting of officers and sailors from local flotilla.
He is an anti-submarine warfare specialist and has held a number of prestigious appointments both afloat and ashore. He served in the Defence Services Staff College, Wellington and Maritime Welfare Centre, Visakhapatnam and submarines Sindhuvir and Sindhuvijay.
According to a release, the new Naval Officer-in-Charge was an alumnus of National Defence Academy and Overseas College (US), prior to taking over the present post. Cmdre Jetly was the Commodore Commanding Submarines (east) and Commanding Officer, INS Virbahu. Cmdre Mohandas, his predecessor, will take up his next appointment in Secunderabad.
