Member of Parliament Jayaprada was all praise for former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy and said that the people of the State are desperately looking for a leader of such stature after his unfortunate demise.
Talking to media persons on Wednesday, the glamour queen of yesteryears minced no words in extolling Dr. Rajasekhara Reddy and rated him on par with the then Telugu Desam Party (TDP) supremo N.T. Rama Rao who she said had developed the State on all fronts.
Dwelling further she said that the people of the State were taking cognizance of the hardships to which Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy is being subjected to on the pretext of CBI investigations.
She however remained silent when asked whether she would join the YSRC but at the same time reiterated her desire to contest the 2014 Parliament elections from Rajahmundry. On the other hand she launched a scathing attack at the Samajwadi Party Chief Mulayam Singh Yadhav and held him responsible for the delay in getting the Women’s Bill passed in the Parliament. Coming down heavily on both Mulayam Singh and Sharad Yadav she said that it was the duo who were intentionally creating hurdles despite the best efforts of the UPA Chairman Sonia Gandhi in getting the Bill through.
Dwelling further she said that the situation in Uttar Pradesh was at its all time low and the women were deprived of any kind of security. Earlier Jayaprada who turned 52 offered prayers at the Lord Venkateswara temple.
