KHAMMAM: Jalagam Venkat Rao, son of the former Chief Minister, Vengal Rao will be in the fray as an independent from the Khammam Assembly constituency. Announcing this at a press conference here on Sunday, he said he would file his nomination on Monday. It is what the supporters of the Congress party and well wishers desired from me and I have decided to oblige. In a way it is all aimed at saving the Congress party, he said. “Our family has its role in building organisation withstanding the onslaught of the Communists". But we are of no consideration today. It is unfortunate, he said. “I believe that the Chief Minister, had wholeheartedly recommended my name for Khammam”. But people know who came in the way, he said.
