KADAPA: Kadapa MP Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy will fly to Pavaralagutta in Kurnool district by helicopter from Idupulapaya at 9 a.m. on Friday to pay homage to his father, Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy, at the chopper crash site.
Former TTD Chairman B. Karunakara Reddy, YSR’s close relative E.C. Gangi Reddy, MLC Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy, Kadapa Mayor P. Raveendranatha Reddy and others would accompany Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy by helicopter, according to party sources. A few lakh people from various parts of the State would converge at Nallakalva near Pavaralagutta to pay homage to YSR on Friday.
Beehive of activity
Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy stayed put at Idupulapaya for the last four days and paid homage at YSR’s samadhi daily. Hundreds of vehicles are expected to leave Kadapa for Pavaralagutta on Friday morning. Idupulapaya was agog with a heavy turnout of people, said to be nearly a lakh each day, to pay homage at YSR’s samadhi and meet Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy. People reached Idupulapaya from various parts of the State by tourist buses, mini-buses, tractors and cars.
Importance of event
Kurnool Staff Reporter writes: Meanwhile, the visit of Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy to Pavuralagutta in the Nallamala forest on Friday, 23 days after the helicopter crash that killed his father, assumes importance because after emerging out of the forest he will address a public meeting at Nallakalva and is expected to make some important announcement considering that the close members of his family are involved in making arrangements for the meeting.
Dushyant Reddy and Y.S. Bhaskar Reddy, who are related to the YSR family, are supervising the arrangements. As per schedule, Mr Jaganmohan Reddy is expected to land at Nallakalva, the point from where a diversion is to be taken into the forest from the Atmakur-Nandyal road. Soon after landing at Nallakalva, he will head towards Pavuralagutta in a convoy of vehicles. Only eight to ten vehicles will be allowed into the forest. The police placed restrictions on the movement of vehicles into the forest right from Thursday. The two-way journey is expected to take five hours for Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy who will have his lunch at Galeru stream on his way back to the venue.
Mr. Jaganmohan is slated to address the meeting at 3 p.m. after multi-religious prayers.
According to organisers, only Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy will address the crowd. A sprawling ground on the dry tank bed on the outskirts of Nallakalva will be used as the venue of the meeting.
One lakh expected
The organisers, especially the close supporters of Mr Jaganmohan Reddy, are particular about making the meeting a grand success. The venue was being developed to accommodate one lakh people and food would be prepared for 50,000 people.
Officials visit site
Meanwhile, Cherlappa, Principal Secretary, Tourism Development, accompanied by Collector Mukesh Kumar Meena visited Pavuralagutta to examine possibility of putting up a memorial at the crash site. Also, a park is being planned at the Nallakalva and a track to the place in the deep forest.
