Minister for Rural Development Dokka Manikyavara Prasada Rao has said he is not “a covert of” YSR Congress Party president Y. S. Jaganmohan Reddy and contended that if there were any such coverts among the Ministers, they should quit the Cabinet immediately.

Talking to reporters here on Friday, he referred to the allegation that some Ministers were acting as coverts of Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy and ruled out the possibility of the presence of such persons in the Cabinet. He said all Ministers were loyal to Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy and the party high command. The Ministers were doing their work according to the priorities fixed by the Chief Minister. Mr. Kiran Kumar Reddy was encouraging the Ministers to perform their assigned tasks. Asked to react on the reported statement by Transport Minister Botcha Satyanarayana that he was a covert of Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy, he said Mr. Satyanarayana might have made the observation sarcastically. Panchayat Raj Minister K. Jana Reddy, when approached by reporters, refused to react to the allegation.
