Minister defends candidature of
Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy for Chief Minister’s post
NALGONDA: Strongly defending the candidature of Kadapa MP Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy for the Chief Minister’s post, Minister for Information Technology K. Venkat Reddy said that Jagan has ample leadership qualities to carry forward the legacy of the former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy and the pro-farmer regime.
The Minister inaugurated a new electricity sub-station constructed at a cost of Rs. 95 lakh at Mushampalli village in the mandal on Thursday evening.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Venkat Reddy, considered to be a staunch supporter of the former Chief Minister, turned emotional and recalled his association with Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy. On noticing a section of the Congress activists displaying placards in favour of Mr.Jaganmohan Reddy, he said, “It appears doubtful to continue in politics if Mr. Jaganmohan did not become the Chief Minister. Dr. Rajasekhara Reddy is my role model in politics. He has made me the Minister for winning thrice as MLA in a row.”
“I had hoped that Dr. Rajasekhara Reddy would inaugurate the prestigious SLBC tunnel project launched at an estimated cost of Rs. 2,000 crore,” he said and lamented that the pro-farmer Chief Minister died even before the realisation of his aspirations.
