The leaders of the JAC for Samaikhyandhra on Tuesday distributed ration to the striking Village Assistants at Nidadavole.

The Village Assistants, who did not receive their salaries for the last two months on account of the Samaikhyandhra agitation, have been in serious financial problems. They received rice and the other cooking materials from the JAC as a gesture of solidarity.

The TDP activists led by former minister Maganti Venkateswara Rao undertook ‘Samaikhya baata’ at Nidamarru. The NGOs resorted to road blockade at Akiveedu, holding up traffic on the Eluru-Bhimavaram State Highway for some time.

‘Karmika Gharjana’ was organised at Narsapur with the involvement of construction workers and those in the other unorganised sectors. Tapi workers built a wall across the road to hold up traffic as part of the protest and a procession with Gangiredlu (decorated bulls) was taken out in the town.

The integrationists took out a demonstration by covering their mouths with black clothes at the same place.

A human chain was formed in Bhimavaram with students from various colleges in and around the town.

Motor cycle rally was taken out in Eluru.
