Every section of society in Adilabad takes up protests in one form or the other

ADILABAD: Congress leader G. Sujatha and four others will take up fast-unto-death on December 29 at the NTR Chowk in support of separate Telangana State.

This was decided at a meeting of the Joint Action Committee (JAC) of political parties and pro-Telangana organisations held here on Monday.

A 12-member coordination committee of the JAC was appointed at the meeting. This committee would look into the future course of action on a day-to-day basis.

The day saw almost every section of society in Adilabad district taking up protests in one form or the other.

Women from different walks of life came together to take out a rally and form a human chain at the Ambedkar Chowk.

They later symbolically submitted a memorandum to the statue of Jawaharlal Nehru seeking his help in making Sonia Gandhi take decision to create Telangana State.

Other forms of protests included motorcycle rallies by students and runs by sportspersons.
