Extending Women’s Day celebrations into the weekend, over 100 women from different walks of life gathered at Vihar, Rushikonda, for a fun-filled Sunday. The women played games, danced, chatted and treated themselves to some scrumptious lunch while enjoying a view of the calm blue waters of the Bay of Bengal.
The outing was organised by Bay Viz Welfare and Cultural Society, an NGO that does charity.
The members of the society are mostly teachers who collect money and spend it to help put a smile on the face of the less fortunate. Although the society is only a few months old they have managed to make a difference in a number of villages near the city.
The fashionably dressed women to remind women of their emancipation and the importance of their role to raise free and intelligent children who would in turn create a self-reliant society. The women belonged to different professions and exchanged notes on their job, family and ways to make a positive change in society.
They let their hair down and had fun as well and gave each other strength and courage to face difficulties in life with a positive attitude.
“You learn by living” is the message that they wished to send out to women.
