KARIMNAGAR: Commissioner of Income Tax-II Hyderabad A Bhaskar Reddy has expressed disappointment over the income tax collection in Karimnagar district .

The Commissioner was in Karimnagar town on Thursday to organise an awareness meeting with the tax-payers and others.

Talking to newsmen, Mr. Bhaskar Reddy said that Karimnagar district I-T Department was set a target of collecting Rs. 8 crore this financial year, but it fell short by Rs. 2 crores. Though Karimnagar district was the most happening district in Telangana region with granite industry, rice mills, schools, colleges, hospitals etc, there were only 80,000 tax-payers and tax collection was not satisfactory.
