The TDP politburo member K.E. Krishna Murthy alleged large-scale irregularities in the filling of medical seats in private medical colleges in the State.

Mr. Krishna Murthy said the private colleges were grossly violating the rule of reservation and converting the reserved seats to management quota to sell them at exorbitant prices. He alleged that even government had extended tacit support especially the medical education department giving a free hand to the private medical college managements. He urged the government to immediately look into the problem and protect the interests of weaker sections retaining the seats for the poor. -Special Correspondent
