Sanskriti - the two-day technical and cultural festival of Institute of Public Enterprise (IPE) started on Wednesday with students testing their talents in various events even as eminent industrialists made them understand the need for values leading to good corporate governance.
Jamshed J. Irani, Director, TATA Sons Limited, who inaugurated the festival spoke about the menace of corruption, casteism, climate change and corporate responsibility to give back to the society.
He quoted instances from his experiences of TATA Group about how positive discrimination helps in the growth of the under privileged strata of the society.
About 1,000 students from various reputed management institutes are participating and cash prizes worth Rs.3 lakh are on offer for the winners.
Dr. Rama Rao, former Vice-Chancellor of HCU addressed the students on management and values.
Shekar Agarwal, FAPCCI president, M Narayana Rao, Chairman and Managing Director, Midhani, R.K. Mishra, Director, IPE also spoke.
