VISAKHAPATNAM: A Development Officer of LIC was booked in a disproportionate assets case by the Central Bureau of Visakhapatnam. The accused Y. Srinivasa Rao, a Development Officer of LIC at Seethammadhara had amassed assets to the tune of Rs.29,76,749 which was disproportionate to his known sources of income.
The CBI, Visakhapatnam, registered a case against the accused on September 19, 2008 and completion of the investigation field a charge sheet in the CBI Court here on Tuesday, according to Deputy Inspector General of CBI G. Nageswara Rao.
In a separate case, the CBI has filed charge-sheets against a Surveyor and a Divisional Manager of New India Assurance Co. Ltd. at Vijayawada in the CBI Court on Wednesday.
A case was registered against the accused Surveyor G.V.S. Ram Prasad after he was caught red-handed while demanding and accepting a bribe.
