All set for the inaugural programme today
KHAMMAM: The Press Information Bureau, Media Units of the Ministry Information and Broadcasting and the district administration of Khammam will jointly organise the Bharat Nirman Public Information Campaign at Wyra, 35 km from here, from March 3 to 7, according to Bhaaratha Lakshmi, assistant information officer (PIB).
She said on Friday that the campaign would get under way with the Bharat Nirman Rally to be flagged off by the Madhira MLA Katta Venkatanarsaiah.
Khammam Collector Sashibushan Kumar will inaugurate the campaign. Union Minister of State for Woman and Child Welfare Renuka Chowdhury and others would take part in the inaugural session.
A free medical and eye camp would be organised on the occasion. A youth festival would be held on March 4.
Seminars on Right to Information and Sarva Siksha Abhiyan and Mid-Day meal would form part of the session.
Festival of farmers
A festival of farmers with focus on rural development would be the highlight of the campaign on March 5.
The session would have a symposium on the role of the NREGA in rural development and a seminar on agriculture and rural development.
The PIB would organise a health and welfarefestival on March 6 and Mahila Utshav on March 7.
About 100 stalls would be put up showcasing the activities of various departments.
