VIZIANAGARAM: In an unusual incident a new-born boy who was declared dead by Gosha Hospital doctor and reportedly came to life at the time of cremation led doctors and also the infant's relatives to stage protest demonstrations at the hospital premises on Saturday.

According to information gathered at the scene, Allu Mani of Poolbaugh Colony here gave birth to a baby boy on Thursday evening. The infant was declared dead on Friday night while being treated at the hospital by Dr. Mahalakshmi.

This morning, the relatives while claiming that the boy moved his limbs at the cremation ground rushed him to a private nursing home where the doctor after declaring “brought dead” allegedly informed his parents that the infant would have survived had he been brought in time. This led to protests by the relatives alleging negligence on the part of doctors at Gosha Hospital.

Irked at their unruly behaviour, hospital staff and doctors led by State IMA president (elect) V.S. Prasad and district secretary Gowri Sankar staged counter demonstrations. Dr. Prasad said that coming to life was far from truth and demanded action against the infant's relatives for creating a scene at the hospital. Lok Satta Party president B.A.Babji who reached the hospital following information demanded an inquiry into the incident. Following the demand, the hospital Superintendent Ravichandra has ordered probe. The II town police registered cases against doctors and the infant's relatives.
