Deepening of industry-academia interaction will enhance the quality of teaching and research in the universities and production output and processes in the industry, observed Beela Satyanaryana, Vice-Chancellor of Andhra University on the occasion of celebration of World Quality Day-2010 at Base Complex, ONGC, Rajahmundry Asset here on Thursday. It is celebrated on second Thursday of November every year.
Elaborating the point, he said industry experience should be ploughed back into the university system continuously for improving the curriculum and vice-versa to build future leaders of the nation. Later he suggested sharpening further machines, materials, methods, mother nature, measurement, and people to enrich quality.
He congratulated ONGC on becoming the Asia's top oil and gas exploration and production company as per Platts ranking, which is the most respected global provider of energy and metal information.
B Dinkar Rao-Asset Manager (Officiating) said ONGC's current status in the global market and exploration and production sphere was consistently fuelled by its own 12 research institutes which work on exploration and production and human resource. At ONGC improving quality was a daily business and employees have internalized the same in their every day professional and personal work.
