The Federation of Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FAPCCI) is inviting applications from industries across the State for excellence awards in 21 categories.

Addressing the media here on Friday, chairman of the Awards Committee Shekhar Agarwal and secretary-general of FAPCCI M.V. Rajeswara Rao said that FAPCCI had been giving away these awards for the past 40 years for excellence in productivity, product innovation, all-round performance, agro-based industries, corporate social responsibility, and R&D, among others.

Enterprises could send in their application forms before May 10. Details and application forms can be downloaded from the website —www.fapcci.in. A special award would be given to the outstanding woman entrepreneur in the State, they said. A jury, comprising two High Court judges and others, would decide the winners, they added. FAPCCI wanted application forms from all over the State and ensure that the awards did not become a Hyderabad-based affair.

“There are several industrial units that have achieved excellence in many of these fields in different parts of the State. We want these unsung, unheard of heroes to get their due,” they said. The awards are expected to be presented by the Chief Minister sometime in June in Hyderabad.

Former FAPCCI president Atchut Rao, president of Vizagapatnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry K. Ramabrahmam, and its secretary M.V Narayana Rao spoke.
