People want the Ministers to strive for early completion of all irrigation projects

Srikakulam: The people of Srikakulam district have welcomed the re-induction of Dharmana Prasada Rao as Revenue Minister and Shatrucherla Vijayarama Raju as Minister for Transport. Shatrucherla Vijayarama Raju served as Minister for Forests.

His re-election from Pathapatnam Assembly constituency has once again paved the way for re-induction into the Cabinet as Transport Minister. Both the Ministers Dharmana and Shatrucherla were given key portfolios of Revenue and Transport.

Irrigation projects

It is hoped that the two Ministers would use their influence in the Government to steer Srikakulam district on the path of progress and development.

The people of the district however want the Ministers to strive for early completion of all irrigation projects, execution of two major thermal power projects and explore possibilities of further industrialisation of the district for generation of employment to the urban and rural educated youth.

Seed production centre

Bhavanapadu fishing harbour on which crores of rupees had been spent had been abandoned half way on technical grounds and financial grounds.

The issue needs to be reviewed with expert advice. Besides the Ministers need to focus on speedy execution of the mega shrimp seed production centre of the Central government in the district.

It is also being hoped that Shatrucherla Vijayarama Raju would infuse new life into the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation and also into the transport sector by revitalising the Road Transport Authority.
