`BJP will emerge as an alternative to Congress after polls'
NALGONDA: The State Bharatiya Janata Party president Nallu Indrasena Reddy has criticised the Telugu Desam and Communist Party of India (Marxist) for `forging an alliance' to fight the panchayat raj elections in the State.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, he said the CPI (M) had left its ideology to the winds for political mileage. "How can the CPI (M), which launched a tirade against the TDP during the Assembly elections, side with the same party now?" he wondered.
Mr. Indrasena Reddy exuded confidence that his party would emerge as an alternative to the Congress after the panchayat raj elections. He further alleged that the Congress resorted to dilatory tactics to weaken the Telangana movement. "Appointment of Pranab Mukharjee committee is also nothing but a delaying tactic. BJP is the only party that can achieve a separate State for Telangana," he said.
Party district unit president Oruganti Ramulu and secretary Veerelli Chandrasekhar were also present.
