TIRUPATI: Juliet Wurr, Public Affairs Officer at the United States Consulate General, Hyderabad, has favoured taking the Indo-American cooperation to a higher plane in the field of higher education in the days to come.

She is currently on a tour of Tirupati along with Greg Rankin, Vice Consul, Consular Section and Salil Kader, cultural affairs specialist, when she had an interaction with the Vice Chancellor of Sri Venkateswara University, N. Prabhakara Rao.

In course of her interaction, she recalled the role of the people of Indian origin in the socio-economic and technological development of the United States. She also elaborated on the procedure followed in the issue of visas to students who arrive into the US for pursuing higher education. Ms.Wurr and Prof. Rao later released a book ‘Thiru Veedhulu’, authored by Peta Srinivasulu Reddy, a Telugu professor who writes under the pen-name ‘Petasri’. Taking the participants by surprise, Mr. Rankin spoke in chaste Telugu, expressing his love for the language.
