The government’s motive is to lessen economic inequality between SC/STs and other communities. With this objective, Indiramma Kalalu is being organised on all working days from April 8 to 30 in all densely populated SC/ST villages and wards in each mandal. The programme is no different from Rachchabanda, according to District Collector M. Veerabrahmaiah.

At a meeting with special officers, tehsildars and MPDOs, Mr. Veerabrahmaiah has said that the officials would conduct grama sabhas and receive representations from SCs and STs. The grama sabha would begin with reading out Chief Minister’s message.

The Collector said old-age pensions to all the eligible SCs and STs who had crossed 60 years of age as on April 1 this year would be sanctioned. Similarly, Indiramma houses would also be sanctioned to the eligible, he said.

Joint Collector P.A. Sobha said that “Amma Hastham”, a kit containing nine essential commodities for Rs. 185 would be launched in the district on April 16.

Tehsildars would ensure supply of the kit to the eligible in villages between April 17 and 24.

The consumers could buy all the nine items or some of them.
