KURNOOL: U. Ramamurthy, site director of Tarapur Atomic Power Station, has said with the nuclear deal with the US turning into a reality, India could revise its nuclear power target to 20,000 MW.
He was addressing a seminar on “Nuclear technology in the development of the Nation” jointly sponsored by Indian Nuclear Society and Rayalaseema University here recently. Dr. A.Y. Dangore, an expert, said nuclear technology made possible conversion of sea water fit for human consumption. Former MLA T.G. Venkatesh attended the meeting as chief guest while T. Subba Rao of Rayalaseema university coordinated the seminar.
