ONGOLE: Viswahita Kalakendram, Hyderabad, bagged the first prize for its playlet 'In camera' in the State-level drama competitions held by NTR Kalaparishad here.

Navajyothi Arts, Kavali, bagged the second prize for its 'Amma vodi'.

In the category of social plays, Kalavani of Godavari districts bagged the first prize for its 'Vithalikudu' and Viswasanthi Cultural Association, Hyderabad, got the second prize for its 'Om'.

In the category of Padya Natakalu, Kalatharangini of Visakhapatnam, bagged the first prize for its 'Varavikrayam' and Meka Arts of Hyderabad got the second prize for its 'Parasuram'.

Kanaka Raju (Rukmini kalyanam), Vijayalaskhmi (Varavikrayam), S. Ramaprasad (In camera), A. Kalyani (In camera), T.V. Jayaprakash Reddy (Veta), M.V. Ramya (Mrugam), M. Rambabu (Abhayaranyam) were adjudged the best actors.

Other awards

Best dress award went to Mrugam, best stage decoration award to Manavathvaniki Maro Konam, best music award to Mrugam (Raju and Thomas), best script award to In Camera (M.V. Subramanyam) and best director award went to A. Kalyani (In Camera).

In the social plays category, best dress award went to Sri Bharani (Vithalikudu), music - Sidarao (Naravatharam), writer - Vadarevu Sundararao, director -- M. Prasada Murthi, character artistes - V.V.L. Kumar (Parasuram), Davala Sanyasi Rao (Vara Vikrayam), G. Veerabhadrachari (Mruthasanjeevani), Prema Sai (Parasuram).

Special jury award went to Kalavani of Godavari districts for its 'padya natakam' 'Telugu Velugulu'.
