Vice-Chancellor of the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University- Anantapur, K Lal Kishore, on Tuesday said that all institutions under the purview of the university should improve to a standard that they be accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA).

Speaking at a workshop titled – Training resource person outcome based accreditation – at the JNTU-A under the aegis of the Department of Academic Planning (DAP) headed by V Shankar, Mr. Lal Kishore opined that all colleges under the university ought to strive hard to get an NBA accreditation. He told representatives and teachers from various colleges attending the training programme that the JNTU-A was the nodal agency for NBA, and added that training sessions were steps taken by the university to improve its standards of coaching at the colleges.

“Evaluators can be turned into effective resource persons through these training programmes,” Mr. Kishore said and urged the DAP to continue with more such programmes at regular intervals. A total of 44 people from various colleges attended the training programme, which was also webcast for all others interested. It was also announced that a follow-up session would be held for three days from June 17.
