The GHMC’s town planning wing went on a demolition spree on Tuesday against several unauthorised constructions in different parts of the city.

Officials demolished illegally constructed third and fourth floors of 17 buildings at Sriramnagar Colony near Botanical Gardens, Kothaguda, in the Serlingampally circle under the supervision of Narasimha Reddy, assistant city planner.

Officials from Circle VIII demolished eight shops constructed without permission in the cellar parking area of K.J. Market in Koti with the assistance of the Sultan Bazar Police.

Twenty other shops also constructed illegally on the third floor were also demolished and sealed following a prolonged court battle, an official spokesperson said.
