The Indira Kranthi Patham (IKP) community activators (CA), under the aegis of CITU, besieged the Collectorate here on Monday demanding the government to fulfil its promise of providing minimum wages of Rs 3,000 to animators and recognise them as village organisation assistants.
The women community activators started arriving from morning and squatted at the entrance of the Collectorate. By noon, the CAs arrival increased and they literally stopped entry of employees and visitors to the Collectorate premises from all the entry points. During lunch hour, the employees were forced to remain in their offices. After several hours of dharna, a delegation led by G. Jyothi went into the Collectorate premises and submitted a memorandum to the Collector.
