HYDERABAD: Yet another political party named Indian Justice Party (IJP) has made claim over Rail Engine as its common symbol.

Leo Augustine, convener, AP unit of the IJP, submitted a memorandum to Chief Electoral Officer I. V. Subba Rao here on Sunday, contesting the proposal to allot Rail Engine to Praja Rajyam on the ground that this symbol was being used during elections in different States by his party since 2003.

He said IJP was an unrecognised but a registered national party and participated in Lok Sabha elections in 2004 at national level and the Assembly elections held in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.

He said he was shocked that the symbol was made a free symbol and that Praja Rajyam claimed it.
