The IIITs have received a total of 32,663 applications for entry into its six-year integrated engineering course.

The figure is a rise of 5,000 over last year, a press release from Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies (RGUKT), which runs the IIITs, said.

Many invalid

Hard copies of these forms are required to be submitted after the application process online.

However, officials said only 16,000 such forms have been received.

Of these, only 10,362 are valid as the remaining candidates failed to attach the caste and study certificate for reservations.

RGUKT Vice-Chancellor R.V. Rajakumar said that if these certificates were not attached to the applications, such candidates would be considered for admission only in the general category.

The last date for the receipt of the hard copy of the application form is June 22.

It can be sent by post or personally handed over at all the IIITs at Basara, Idupulapaya and Nuziveed or at the RGUKT head office at IIIT Hyderabad campus.
