HYDERABAD: Students in the State from this academic year can pursue diploma and other certified courses offered by Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) simultaneously while studying conventional degree and post graduate courses in colleges.

The university has recently launched a new scheme on Convergence of Open and Distance Learning and Conventional studies, where in, students from select colleges in the State can enrol for different value added programmes in addition to the conventional programmes offered by respective colleges.

Emphasis would be laid on usage of audio-visual equipment, Internet and other technology to improve the quality of teaching and learning process, informed IGNOU Vice-chancellor V.N. Rajasekharan Pillai while addressing a workshop on the scheme here at City College on Friday.
