Ace director Krishna Vamsi has confirmed that music for his latest film, with Ramcharan Tej in the lead, ‘Govindudu Andarivaade’ will be scored by Yuvan Shankar Raja, but hastened to add that it was only after discussions with S.S. Thaman that the change was effected.

“Initially, music for the film was to be composed by Thaman, but he told me that he was busy and agreed to a change. It was an amicable decision. I must also add that I am looking for music that will be in sync with the mood, in every scene, notes that will showcase culture and tradition, sound modern yet ancient, one of a kind, conceptual sound from the land and from the people,” he said, over phone from Chennai.

As to what he was doing in Chennai, Krishna Vamsi said he was in music sittings with Yuvan Shankar Raja.

“We have been struggling for the past 15 days, on a single tune, for a song that will form the nucleus,” he said on his return from shooting with Ramcharan in Pollachi of Tamil Nadu. Hard work? “Sure, it is,” he quipped, before signing off.

He writes for himself, this time

Star writer Kona Venkat, who was very much in the news last year after differences with director Sreenu Vaitla, came to the fore last year with his tweets about how many people in the film industry took credit that was not rightfully theirs, is now presenting ‘Geetanjali’.

Interestingly, apart from writing the screenplay and the dialogues, he is also presenting this film being made as Production No. 1 on the MVV Cinema banner, the company he launched together with his friend and builder in Visakhapatnam, M.V.V. Satyanarayana.

It was originally said that he was directing this film starring Anjali (‘Seetamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu’ fame), but he said the megaphone was being wielded by debutant Raj Kiran. As to what kind of role Anjali was essaying, he wouldn’t divulge details, but said that after her role in the hit film with hero Venkatesh in ‘Seetamma Vaikitlo …’, this would be different.

On Friday evening, the filmmaker held his first press showcase of the film. Interestingly, the unit threw a party for popular comedian Brahmanandam who completed 30 years in the industry, working in a whopping 800-plus Telugu films over three decades! Needless to say, the comedian has a sizeable part in this film and other co-stars include Rao Ramesh and Srinivas Reddy.
