VIZIANAGARAM: All is not well in the TDP in S.Kota and Bobbili Assembly constituencies where party cadres were unhappy with the fielding of Kolla Lalitha Kumari, daughter-in-law of Kolla Appala Naidu, former MLA, from S.Kota Assembly constituency and Tentu Lakshmi Naidu from Bobbili ignoring senior leader S.V. Ch. Appala Naidu. It seems the TDP, in an attempt to do justice to the majority Koppula Velamas in S.Kota constituency, preferred Ms. Lalitha Kumari to Ms. Hymavathi, whose ST status claim was struck down in the court in the past.

Following fissures within the party, Ms. Hymavathi met her supporters from S.Kota, Vepada and Jami mandals late on Saturday evening and announced resignation from party posts –State Telugu Mahila secretary, district Telugu Mahila president and State party observer.

She, however, decided to continue in the party and work as an ordinary party worker in future. After the meeting, S.Kota mandal party president Reddy Venkanna, general secretary G.S. Naidu and a few more leaders decided to quit if the party high command failed to reverse decision by Monday.

At Bobbili, Mr. Appala Naidu went to the extent of filing nomination as a rebel candidate but P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju prevented him from doing so.

Mr. Tentu Lakshmi Naidu, too met Mr. Appala Naidu at his home in Bobbili and sought his support in the elections. His appeal to him too paid dividends to some extent.
