Pharma and ITES sectors see a positive movement in their hiring levels

Hyderabad has seen a five per cent spurt in hiring activity during November over that of previous month though the India Inc. continues to witness bleak hiring sentiment.

It is mainly thanks to the pharma and ITES- some of the important sectors of the city- which have seen positive movement in their hiring levels. A year-on-year comparison of recruitment levels for the city also showed two per cent growth in November this year compared to the corresponding period last year, according to Job Speak Index. Among the other top cities of the country, Mumbai, Pune and Delhi registered negative movements of nine per cent, six per cent and three percent respectively. On a national level, the Job Speak Index dipped by four per cent in November over that of October.

Mr. Hitesh Oberoi, CEO and MD, Info Edge, commenting the trend said most industries were opting for selective hiring and this trend would continue for the next few months.

In Hyderabad, the pharma sector witnessed maximum positive movement of seven per cent, construction and BPO sectors saw stable hiring over the last one month.
