Hundreds witness temple ritual

On the occasion of the ‘Karthika masa Sivaratri’, the famous temple in Konaseema -- Sri Sarvamangala Ramalingeswara, Prsannanjaneya, Shirdi Sai temple -- conducted its 12th annual ‘Satasahasra Panchamukhi Rudraksha pooja’ in a grand way here on Wednesday in the presence of Poojyasri Paripoornananda Saraswati of Sree Peetham, Kakinada. Hundreds of devotees thronged the temple to witness the ritual which began at 8.32 a.m. under the aegis of Brahmasri Bandhakavi Ramajogeswara Rao and Vedic scholar Vadrevu Srinivasa Rao.

Panchamukhi Rudraksha, which were brought from the Himalaya region, were kept around the Siva idol. It was followed by rituals by women and discourse on Sundarakanda, Mahalingarchana, Rudra Homam and Poornahuti.

Evening programmes started with Chaturveda Parayana, Satasahasra Sindhura pooja to Anjaneya Swami and Shirdi Saibaba along with Sapta Nadi Jala Abhishekam.

Sri Paripoornanda Saraswati felicitated Kamakshi Peetadhipati Sri Kamesh Maharshi for his social service activities.

Machiraju Ramachandraiah and Seetharavamma conducted all the poojas and temple chairman Machiraju Ravikumar said that the temple idols were installed in 1947 and one lakh Panchamukhi Rudraksha poojas are being performed here every year. He said the tradition would continue.
